Managing files and catalogs

• Double-click the Elements Organizer Backup/Synchronization Agent icon in the System Tray.
• Click the Elements Organizer Backup/Synchronization icon in the status bar of Elements Organizer, and select
View Backup/Synchronization status.
The Elements Backup/Synchronization Status dialog is displayed. The dialog displays the following information:
• The current state of the Synchronization engine such as running or paused.
• The total number of assets that are being backed up/synchronized.
• The overall progress of the synchronization activity.
• The online storage capacity being used.
• The asset that is being backed up/synchronized.
The dialog also allows you to pause or resume the Backup/Synchronization activity.
Start Back up and Synchronization activity manually
Backup/Synchronization is a scheduled activity. The synchronization agent checks for assets to synchronize at regular
intervals. Between these periods of activity, the Elements
Organizer Backup/Synchronization Agent is idle. To
synchronize right away instead of waiting for the next scheduled synchronization, click Sync Now in the
Backup/Synchronization Status dialog. The Backup/Synchronization process starts and any changes that you have
made are synced to Photoshop.com immediately.
Resolve conflicts
Elements Organizer facilitates resolving conflicts that arise during backing up/synchronization. The initialization time
of the sync depends on the size of the catalog - larger the file size, greater the initialization time. Conflicts can arise due
to the following reasons:
• For example, you have edited a photo online and edited the same photo on your computer. When you synchronize
the media using the Elements Backup/Synchronization Agent icon, a conflict arises.
• For example, you delete a photo from Photoshop.com and then synchronize the media using the Elements
Backup/Synchronization Agent icon, a conflict arises. The conflict arises because the photo does not exist on
Photoshop.com, however, it exists on your computer.
Resolve conflicts due to changes in the media files
1 Click the Elements Organizer Backup/Synchronization Warning icon in the status bar of Elements Organizer,
and select View And Resolve Conflicts.
2 To resolve conflicts due to the changes made in a photo, click Conflicts in the Backup/Synchronization Resolution
dialog. You see a message requesting confirmation and the following:
• The Conflict List with a list of conflicted files that need resolving.
Note: The first conflict, Conflict 1 is selected by default.
• The thumbnails of the online version of the photo and the version of the photo on your computer, to facilitate
resolving Conflict 1.
